I, too,had trouble with my 597 not feeding bullets correctly when I first got it.This turned out to be a factory problem with the clips.Remington recognized this problem and made the next clips differently hoping this would correct the problem.The new clips worked better but still had problems.Remington then came out with the clip that works.The clip has a 10 with a circle around it and my rifle has ceased to jam.The rifle is very accurate,shooting a 5 shot 3/4 inch group at fifty yards from a bench rest.Great rifle for the bucks after Remington corrected the clip problem.

I got this rifle when I was 13, and experienced a lot of trouble. The clip has problems, and I had bullets blow my clip to pieces.
